What we liked
- + Botanical name Acer buergerianum is stated, which matters with maple seed often sold under loose common names
- + Growing instructions are included with the packet according to the listing
- + Lowest packet price in this guide for a species widely grown as deciduous bonsai
Trade-offs
- - Only about 20 seeds, which leaves little margin if germination is patchy
- - The listing gives no stratification steps or germination rate, though maple seed normally needs a cold period first
