What we liked
- + Pieces of about 3 to 6 mm suit small bonsai pots as a top dressing or soil additive
- + Listed as pure volcanic rock with no dyes or chemicals
- + The resealable bag lets you take only the amount you need and store the rest
Trade-offs
- - Only 2.8 lb, far less than the old 2 gallon bag, so larger collections need several bags
- - Black rock, not red, so the look on top of the soil is different from the earlier pick
