What we liked
- + Eight named species, the widest mix in this guide, so a few failures still leave trees to grow
- + Manual offers two routes: species-specific stratification or a simple soak and sow method
- + Includes hand tools, spray bottle, markers and a woven storage basket in a printed gift box
Trade-offs
- - One of the pricier kits here, and eight pots of seedlings need real windowsill space
- - The 1 to 2 week sprouting claim in the listing is optimistic for conifers such as pine and spruce
